The University of Abuja (UniAbuja) has formally announced the appointment of Mrs. Roseline Adakayi as the new Acting Registrar, with effect from Monday, May 12, 2025. Her appointment is for a six-month tenure, pending the selection of a substantive registrar.

This appointment was approved by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Dr. Olanrewaju Tejuoso, and communicated through a letter issued by the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Patricia Manko Lar.

According to a statement released on Monday by Dr. Habib Yakoob, Acting Director of Information and University Relations, Mrs. Adakayi succeeds Mrs. Islamiya Foyeke Abdulraheem, whose own six-month term ended on May 12, 2025.

Mrs. Adakayi has had a long-standing career in the administrative framework of UniAbuja. She joined the institution on 2nd November 1999 as an Administrative Officer in the Registry and steadily progressed to the position of Deputy Registrar in 2013.

Her educational qualifications include:

• B.Sc. in Geography – University of Jos (1986)

• Professional Diploma in Land Surveying – Federal School of Surveying, Oyo (1990)

• Postgraduate Diploma in Photogrammetry – Federal Centre for Training in Aerospace Surveys (RECTAS), Ile-Ife (1994)

Adakayi is widely regarded as a seasoned university administrator, having served across multiple critical divisions of the University of Abuja. Her administrative experience includes:

• Centre for Distance Learning and Continuing Education

In 2024, she went on sabbatical leave at the University of Jos, further enriching her academic and leadership exposure.
