JAMB Raises 2025 Cut-Off Mark for Universities to 150 | See Official Benchmarks for All Institutions
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially announced the minimum cut-off marks for the 2025/2026 academic session, raising the bar for university admissions in Nigeria.
✅ JAMB 2025 Approved Cut-Off Marks by Institution:
- Universities – 150 and above
- Colleges of Nursing Sciences – 140 and above
- Polytechnics – 100 and above
- Colleges of Education – 100 and above
This development marks an upward shift for universities, with the cut-off mark increasing from 140 in 2024 to 150 in 2025. All institutions are expected to comply with these new benchmarks during their admission processes.
JAMB to Permit Special Admission Waivers After 90% Quota Fulfillment
JAMB has also announced that it may grant special waivers for institutions to submit additional admission lists—such as the:
- Governor’s List
- Vice-Chancellor’s (VC) List
- Senate List
These lists are considered irregular and are not part of JAMB’s standard admission framework. However, institutions may be allowed to upload them on CAPS only after admitting at least 90% of qualified candidates through the regular admission process.
Institutions are strongly advised to maintain merit, fairness, and transparency in all admission decisions.
